Beware the Experts!

I easily spend 50% of my day reading. Reading is learning. Now, more than ever, we need to learn quickly to keep up. 

As I've talked with a few people about this lately I've found agreement that staying current in the tech marketing space is an exhausting endeavor. It is easy to feel like we're stuck on an eternal hamster wheel. But, what's the alternative?

The Expert Myth

I read this quote in a promotional email this morning. Notice the scare tactics. 

This is too hard for you.

Hire an expert.

Only we can truly optimize your campaign!

Here's the thing: Become your own expert. The world of marketing, technology and business systems is changing so quickly. Learn and apply quickly and you'll be fine. 

Of course, if you have better things to do with your time, hire an "expert." But here's a tip. If they call themselves an expert...you probably want to keep looking. πŸ‘πŸ»
